Side Address Dual Diaphragm Microphone
Electret condenser microphone
Sony is pleased to introduce the new ECM90 series of ultra-miniatre lavalier microphones. The ECM90/BC (4 pin Hirose connector) is an omni-directional electret condenser microphone with a unique dual diaphragm design, capable of delivering studio quality low noise, wide dynamic range, and extended frequency response from 20Hz to 20kHz.
Based upon the unique dual rectangular diaphragm design of the ECM88, the ECM90 adds the appropriate capsule shielding required for use with digital wireless mic transmitters, such as Sony’s DWX series. Most significantly, the unique dual diaphragm design allows for an almost complete elimination of common lavalier mic cable rubbing noise, found in almost all existing lav mics available today. Lav cable noise can easily ruin the best take!
The ECM-90 series uses a dual-diaphragm mechanism, which contributes to their high sensitivity and low inherent noise characteristics. The diaphragm and backplates are fixed vertically to the microphone capsule, which effectively reduces the mechanical noise caused by cable vibration and friction.
