Reliable SSD Recording Media
Pak Media is a high-capacity solid-state drive encased in a protective housing with a rugged connection engineered to handle the rigors of repeated use in the field and multiple capacities to fit your needs. Utilize the AJA Pak Dock (sold separately) to transfer your footage over Thunderbolt orUSB 3.0.
Pak Media
File-based recording means your files are your master copy – something you don’t want to leave to chance.
Pak Media uses a solid metal housing to protect the internal SSD drive from the bumps and bounces of field use, ensuring your media is secure.
The reinforced connector is engineered for repeated insertion and removal cycles, unlike the connector built into SSD drives, which is designed primarily to be inserted into a computer and rarely removed.
Pak-Adapt-eSATA
Pak-Adapt-eSATA is a Pak Media sized adaptor with an eSATA connector that allows you to attach a qualified RAID or single volume storage via an eSATA cable, so that it may be used as a recordable drive.
Pak-Adapt-eSATA can be utilized with the Ki Pro Ultra. You can even connect two Pak-Adapt-eSATA to the Ki Pro Ultra for even more flexibility in the field.
eSATA connectivity provides the bandwidth needed for 4K 422 HQ at up to 30fps.
Pak-Adapt-CFast
Pak-Adapt-CFast allows you to use CFast media you provide with CION, Ki Pro Quad and Ki Pro Ultra. Simply insert the CFast card into the Pak-Adapt-CFast and once the green LED is lit, your media is mounted and can be formatted. Formatting CFast media may take up to 60 seconds to complete.
You’re then able to record direct to your media. You can even mix and match AJA Pak media side by side in Ki Pro Quad and Ki Pro Ultra with Pak-Adapt-CFast if needed. Pak-Adapt-CFast requires qualified media to ensure you get the best results.
For long recording times, AJA recommends Pak512 and Pak1000 media. For 4K 60p recording Pak1000 media is required. AJA cannot guarantee the performance of any other media.
Although most types of CFast media will mount, only qualified media will provide proven performance. AJA does not prevent the user from using unqualified media and as such does not recommend the usage of any other media than that listed below. AJA Video does not take any responsibility for any loss of data by using unqualified media.
Current qualified CFast media:
SanDisk Extreme Pro CFast 2.0 128GB* currently supports raster and frame rates up to 4K 30p with a limit of ProRes 422 HQ recording on AJA devices compatible with Pak-Adapt-CFast**.
*SanDisk Part Code DCFSP-128G with firmware version HDX14.14
**Densities other than 128GB are not supported, AJA testing has concluded that the performance was not consistent enough to fully qualify them for inclusion.
